Photography by Shalicia Johnson | Brava Magazine article

I completed my education from the finest massage school in Madison, East-West Healing Arts Institute (EWHAI) and am a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist (LMBT). My passion is in health, wellness and alternative medicine, which lead me to become a fitness instructor and massage therapist. I can now do what I love and provide therapeutic sessions to get you to a healthier you.

My mission is to provide effective therapeutic/medical bodywork to encourage frequent self-care with hopes to shift the mindset that massage and bodywork has amazing health benefits and is a necessity not just a luxury. Our bodies take a lot of physical and emotional stress as we continue our busy lives, we often forget to unwind and take care of ourselves. Let’s change it up and get our bodies back centered and maintenance regularly so we can really enjoy our lives.

Sarrut’s Bodywork style

To undo a lot of the everyday stress, along with the extras our bodies take on, I listen to the body through my hands. Depending on what the body needs, the session may include: acupressure, deep tissue, Swedish, sports, myofascial release, Zen Shiatsu, Thai, Tui Na, reflexology, CLARITY™ energy work and many other specialized techniques. Cupping is also available to better reach the goal of the session.

I will focus on some main issues and address it during the session using the various modalities listed above. During the session, I may ask you to describe any sensation or changes in pain, engage in active stretching/pin and stretch techniques, and guide your breathing for a better release. Depending on how responsive the body is to the session, I may suggest some self-care home stretches/massages to maintain the achievements and/or suggest a sooner visit to continue with the healing progress.

SARRUT OUTSIDE OF WORK

I am married to the most wonderful woman and a mother to 2.5 dogs (Mosley – Cockapoo, Maui – Russian Blue, and Abu – Chihuahua mix). I was born in Chicago, grew up in Madison, WI and you can find me on the bike paths, hiking trails and dining out at our many foodie joints outside of work.
